Ho Chi Minh City, May 8, 2008 – VinaGame has initiated its first e-sport tournament on May 13, 2008. The FPS tournament will take place in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City
This tournament highlights monthly shooting contests for Sudden Attack gamers. In order to participate, gamers need to form groups of five, which is a standard mode widely applied by many world-acclaimed e-sport tournaments such as World Cyber Game, ESWC or the nationally known ESVN.
The elimination round of the tournament will kick off on May 13 with the attendance of 128 groups (teams) which had been selected following the screening stage held by the Board of Organizers. The semi-finals will witness 8 excellent teams combat each other to reach for the final glory. Participants will compete on 2 maps: Deathmatch and Warehouse by home-and-away format. Each game will last 10 minutes.
This e-sport contest will create opportunities for gamers to socialize, learn from each other’s experience, and test their shooting skill with Sudden Attack, No.1 FPS in Korea, China, and Japan. After this tournament, VinaGame will organize some inter-school tournament for University students, also in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City yet with more world-known names such as Warcraft 3: DotA, FIFA 2008, etc.
The First Prize is worth 5 million dong; Second Prize 3 million; Third Prize 2 million. VinaGame highly expects that this event will help create a new playground for gamers and a platform for Vietnamese e-sport.
Apart from hosting regular tournaments, VinaGame is going to update many more new functions, maps, and gameplay in order to meet the expectation for Sudden Attack
