Ho Chi Minh, July 10, 2008 – Boom is kicking off a huge 45-day tournament on July 15, 2008. It will last until August 31, 2008 and its slogan has been determined as ‘Conquer Boom summit – confirm your class’. The total value for awards is calculated at 400 million dong. Expected to prolong the success of the previously organized tournaments, 2008 Boom Tournament will be held in three biggest centers of Vietnam including Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and the Central Highlands. According the official rules of the tournament, all boomers with levels over or equal to 40 are eligible to join.

Valid boomers will start by forming their own three-member teams at their will. Then the teams need to visit http://boom.zing.vn/ to register for the tournament. The Board of Organizers will not accept any other forms of registration. Registers should be aware of their living places to make valid registration as well as the deadline for registration as of August 10, 2008. The Preliminary Round will last from August 2 to 17 and the Final Round will take place in Ho Chi Minh City on August 31, 2008.
During the Preliminary Round, all teams will be divided into groups by round-robin format for knockout games. The game mode for this round will be Revival Mode. In case of a draw, the teams will go on to Racing Map to eliminate each other. If another draw occurs, the winner will be chosen by lucky draw. After this round finishes, the 10 most excellent teams will go straight to Final Round, in which round-robin format will apply for the second time. The teams of this round continue to fight their groups around for the first and second position of the group. After that the winning teams of one group will cross-play the ones of another group until the first prize, the second prize, the third prize of the tournament are determined.
‘Last year’s Boom Tournament really made the online game market go wild with 700 participants and thousands of supporters. It is our expectation that this year the tournament will create an exciting and fun mood for the last month of the summer. After all, the goal of the tournament is to enhance gamers’ intelligence, creativity, and dynamism,’ Ms. Ho Thi Bich Phuong, Boom Online Product Manager said. Following roadside of the contests are musical performances, small fun games packed with gifts. Cheerleaders will also warm up the day and characters in Boom Online like Dao, Bazzi will step out in costumes.
