Title VinaGame - leap by the force of 850 brains


VinaGame was established in September 2004. Young as it is, the company holds a notable record of achievements, ranging from the successful application of information technology to real life perspectives, to the triumphant development of a human-based corporate culture.
 
Remarkable achievements
The September 21st 2007 witnessed the third birthday of VinaGame. Fostering growth within such a deemed short period is an impossible mission for most businesses. However, VinaGame found those three years long enough to leave some remarkable impressions in Vietnam. Its modest facility located at 166 Cao Thang, District 10 in the start-up stage has been developed into 13 spacious buildings, including 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, 3 in Hanoi, and 2 in Da Nang. They are comfortably accommodating over 850 staff.

Big things came in November 2004 when VinaGame signed a contract with Kingsoft to obtain the publishing copyright of Swordsman Online (Vo Lam Truyen Ky), the very first MMORPG in Vietnam. Soon after, the game managed winning popular hearty acceptance of Vietnamese gamers. Currently, Swordsman Online is still accounting for 50 percent of Vietnam’s game market – the crowed playgrounds for numerous published online games.
And that is just the start. In digital content business, VinaGame invests in not only online games but also e-commerce, community service, software engineering, and much more…The Company’s product portfolio is now very diverse.

In respect of online games VinaGame owns Swordsman Online 1, Swordsman Online 2, Ragnarok, Nine Dragons, First Myth, Boom Online, and the upcoming T812 Vietnamese-rich game. In terms of e-commerce, VinaGame’s online supermarket at http://www.123mua.com.vn/ was ranked 4 out of 10 Vietnam’s B2C e-commerce websites by the Ministry of Trade. In addition, the Company self-developed Cyber Station Manager, the Internet café management software of choice by virtue of easy utilization and labor-saving advantage. The software was upgraded to version 4.2.5 highlighted with user-friendly interface, high stability, strict confidence, and installed in as many as 7000 Internet rooms nationwide as a freeware. Also in the portfolio are Yobanbe and ZingMP3. Yobanbe community site built with monolingual interface (Vietnamese) has been widely accepted by Vietnamese youngsters. ZingMP3 (at http://mp3.zing.vn/) is now promoting its own standing in the market. That is not to mention some other projects which are being implemented.

As an award-winning enterprise, VinaGame has been presented an impressive variety of honorable prizes including two ‘Favorite Operator in Vietnam’ awards in two consecutive years.

The above mentioned achievements traced their roots back to the precise field orientation and the meticulous formulation of development strategies. The young leaders of the Company are quick to realize that digital content business is highly intellectual, bringing big profits and constituting an overwhelming driving force and a necessary means to accelerate the construction of an information society and a knowledge-based economy in Vietnam. ‘We are extremely optimistic with the bright future of digital content business. We VinaGame will soon master the technology of this field, especially that of digital videos, animation, television entertainment programs, online games, interactive games, e-commerce…’, said Mr. Le Hong Minh, Chairman of the Board.
 
The human-based corporate culture creates powerful force to leap forward
As part of developmental and expanding process are the revolutionary amendments of our administrative system and the rapid growth of our human resource. From the starting headcount of 5 staff in the start-up stage, VinaGame’ s current force reached 850. All of them are young; if not very young (the median age is between 23 and 25). Their strong points lie at their creativity, flexibility, and dedication both at work and in play…

A tour around VinaGame’s offices will give the visitor an impression: spotting a gray hair in there is really difficult. Here and there amidst the highly concentrated mood at work, comfort and intimacy can easily be retrieved in delighted laughs and mild jokes of the youngsters. Sharing the same vision, the peering employees voluntarily cooperate with each other to reach for the final goals of their work: productivity. They are also pleased to assist each other in related projects to ensure the efficiency. The close interaction really brings VinaGame’s members together and creates the distinctive culture of the Company.

Burning enthusiasm is arousing high working spirit for VinaGame’s members, who have been joining hands to push VinaGame leap firmly forwards. The image of VinaGame’s youngsters devoting at work and unwinding at play can give any watcher a good impression that VinaGame conveys in its deep skin an extraordinary and typical beauty. ‘I was among the first staff of VinaGame’, said Mr. Lam Quang Thuan, VinaGame’s Marketing Manager, ‘for a personal reason I had to quit VinaGame. However, the distinguishing elements in VinaGame such as the culture, the working environment, the colleagues, etc seemed to be part of my soul…I missed all of them; I missed VinaGame so much that I couldn’t leave it behind’. Consequently, Thuan came back to VinaGame just a while later.
